My 15 favourite Australian e-learning bloggers

E-Learning Provocateur

Fay Moore made my day when she nominated me for the Versatile Blogger Award. I’m still unsure as to whether this is the blogosphere’s version of a chain letter, but in any case it gives me a good excuse to: A) Thank Fay for her support, and. B) Promote other bloggers. According to the VBA Rules I’m supposed to nominate 15 bloggers whom I have recently discovered or follow regularly.

Social media and reflection: marriage or divorce?

Joitske Hulsebosch eLearning

Social media in organisations has been a difficult topic and sometimes bothers me. When I am invited to do introductory sessions in organisations, I feel like I'm converting people to use MORE social media, whereas I don't believe it is a matter of using as many social media as possible. I do believe however in finding an optimal use of social media to support individual and collective learning and innovation.

In ‘Flipped’ Classroom, the Emphasis Must Be on Support, Not Video

Mindflash

Salman Khan, he of Khan Academy fame, has said that the “ flipped classroom ” model — in which students watch or listen to pre-recorded lectures over the Web, on their own time rather than during class — liberates instructors to finally make real connections with their students. And certainly there’s something to that. By focusing that valuable face-to-face classroom time on exercises that put the lessons learned during lectures into actual practice (doing the homework at schoo

Jane Hart

That was one of the findings of my recent anonymous survey on how people learn best in the workplace, and even I was surprised by the results. But I think the biggest take-away from my survey is that we can no longer assume we know how people like to learn in the workplace nor how we think people should learn.
