During one of my recent Captivate 5/5.5 Essentials online classes, a participant asked if it was possible to share a group of effects with other members on her team. She had added several effects to an object that everyone on her team liked.

If you forget to do this one thing when you design your training, be prepared for potentially hours of rework and a lot of finger pointing. In our field, it isn't easy to get cooperation from subject matter experts (SMEs). From what I can tell in my own personal experience, SMEs never have "the time" to be bothered with training; getting their input can be like pulling teeth - this can cause quite the dilemma.

It was one of those “wait – what?” moments that I sometimes get as an analyst because you know, I have to know this stuff.

Six years ago few people believed that informal learning made much of a difference. Today’s common wisdom is that most workplace learning is experiential, unplanned, social, and informal. Informal learning tops many training department agendas. Companies are attracted by the low price tag. However, few of them are doing much systematically. They’ve converted a few programs but they’ve failed to improve their learning ecosystems.

'Digitec has begun building a bridge to integrate its Knowledge Direct learning management system with TMA Resource’s Personify association management system. An off-the-shelf integration with the Personify AMS will provide users of both systems with single sign-on, secure data transfer, eCommerce and enhanced member self-services. Once the integration is complete, users will log in through the Personify AMS and be automatically granted access to the Knowledge Direct LMS.
