Google Wave in 10 Minutes

Experiencing eLearning

Lots of people have written about Google Wave, but I haven’t really had time to watch the full 80-minute demo. If you’re looking for a shorter version, this 10-minute video shows the highlights and some of the possibilities without requiring the full time commitment of the full preview. I’ve been using Google Docs to collaborate with SMEs for over two years now, and it’s great for a lot of things.

Measurement & ROI for Social & Network Learning

Experiencing eLearning

These are my notes from the Learn Trends: Networked and Social Learning online mini-conference. This isn’t my usual comprehensive live blogging, just snippets of things that caught my interest. I wanted to actually participate in the chat and watch Twitter too, and I couldn’t juggle all of it at the same time. This is post 2 of 3. Measurement & ROI for Social & Network Learning.

My Portfolio

Experiencing eLearning

Tom Kuhlmann’s post from last week about why everyone should have an e-learning portfolio motivated me to put mine together. In the past, I’ve always emailed a few samples to prospective employers rather than having a comprehensive portfolio. Sakai 3 Development Process

Experiencing eLearning

These are my notes from the webinar on the Sakai 3 development process by Michael Korcuska about Sakai 3 Participation. This is about the changes coming for Sakai and what needs to be done in the community right now to move development forward. This is a very different approach to an LMS, with the idea of breaking things out of courses into broader workflows.

First Impressions of Twitter

Experiencing eLearning

I finally signed up for Twitter last week after resisting for quite a while. Part of my resistance/reluctance to join was that this just seemed too out there for the audience I work with and our online facilitators. I’m willing to fight the battles to include blogs and wikis and chat and a bunch of other stuff, but this seemed like too much to throw at them.
