The Daily Routine for Happiness

“You must be the change you want to see in the world.” Gandhi. I’m living the happiness and well-being practices I am prescribing to others. Happiness requires a routine. A couple of activities a day is all it takes to make you happier. Jot down 3 things I am grateful for. Email a positive message to someone. Meditate for 2 minutes. Exercise for 10 minutes.

Singularity Summit 12, Day 1

Today I attended the Singularity Summit in San Francisco. The opportunity to hear Temple Grandin, Stephen Pinker, and Daniel Kahneman was irrestible. We’re halfway through and I am disappointed. Temple Grandin was great but I had read and heard a much of her message before. Traditional learning styles are bunk except for autistic people who do have their own style.

People with positive emotions are more engaged in their work, produce more, sell more, and lead more fulfilling lives. Yet most businesses sweep emotion under the rug. Businesslike means methodical, practical, and unemotional. Emotion in the workplace is similar to informal learning: it’s undeniably important, it’s pervasive, and it has not been on anybody’s agenda.
