PowerPoint: Create an Infographic

The Logical Blog by IconLogic

by AJ George  If you need to create an Infographic, there are better programs than PowerPoint that you could use. Photoshop would be a good choice, or maybe Fireworks. That being said, PowerPoint is likely on your office computer right now. Additionally, PowerPoint is often underutilized as a design platform and is surprisingly agile. One reason PowerPoint isn't the first program people think of for Infographics is that infographics are traditionally not the same size as a PowerPoint s

Think Multiscreen (vs. iPad-only) when developing an mLearning Strategy

mLearning Revolution

'One thing I stress in my mLearning workshops is the fact that having an iPad-only strategy for Learning is not a thorough mLearning Strategy. Granted, the iPad accounts for 91% of all tablet web traffic and that statistic alone is compelling enough to make you want to focus your entire learning development efforts on just this tablet, however as you think about your own mLearning strategy, I strongly encourage you to think instead about the multiscreen world we live in and develop for it.

The third goal of learning

Clark Quinn

I’ve regularly told workshop and talk attendees that our learning goals are twofold. It may be time to amend that. Formally, our goals for learning interventions should be retention over time until needed and transfer to all appropriate situations (and no inappropriate ones). And these are important goals. If the learning’s atrophied by the time it’s needed, it’s of no use.

New directions in self-study e-learning: social interactions

Clive on Learning

Over the past week I’ve been heavily involved in helping to judge this year’s E-Learning Awards. I used to have a role in administrating them, but I never got to see any of the entries. Last year and this I’ve been on the panels for several of the categories and it’s been a real eye-opener. First and foremost, the experience has lifted my spirits. I get so much flack from trainers about boring e-learning that nobody wants to do, that sometimes I despair that we’ll ever get it right.
