Learning Pool helps Girlguiding empower volunteers to provide exceptional experiences

Learning Pool is delighted to have partnered with the UK charity, Girlguiding to offer a more comprehensive digital learning solution to its 100,000 volunteers.

Girlguiding is the leading charity for girls and young women in the UK. Through fun, friendship, challenge and adventure, the organization empowers girls to find their voice, inspiring them to discover the best in themselves and to make a positive difference in their community. Supported by 100,000 volunteers, almost 400,000 girls meet regularly as Rainbows, Brownies, Guides and Rangers throughout the UK.

As part of an ambitious new strategy to improve the learning experience for its volunteers and to continue to empower them to provide exceptional experiences for its girls and young women, Girlguiding established a need for a new digital learning solution. The platform is to be used for both mandatory and non-mandatory training, as well as for the management of internal qualifications and will help the organization track learner engagement and completion rates, whilst adding flexibility to the learning and reducing the administrative burden for its volunteers.

In  2019, Girlguiding worked with a digital UX agency to conduct a 12-week Discovery to help identify user needs, as well as a vision for the platform. Through this, an L&D ambition to support and enable all volunteers to achieve their potential through high-quality, accessible, rewarding and impactful learning opportunities was identified.

During the Discovery, a number of user stories for the varying volunteer roles at Girlguiding were developed, and against which a number of Learning Management Systems were benchmarked. After a rigorous tender process, Girlguiding awarded Learning Pool the contract to provide them with an LMS that will exist as the Girlguiding’s main platform for all its learning

Girlguiding will also use Learning Pool’s award-winning authoring tool, Adapt Builder to create its own content going forward, as well as our LMS Pulse; a plug-and-play solution that triggers automated and personalized workflows for learners.

Arnika Knight, Volunteer L&D Manager at Girlguiding said:
