Branching scenarios can be a pain to design. Happily, you can use a simple tool called Twine to easily draft the scenario and produce it. In this post we’ll look at a scenario that I wrote to demonstrate Twine’s basic features and to make a point about teaching through stories. In the scenario, you’re a journalist in a hurry to get to a hot story in Zekostan, and your “guide&# can’t speak English or drive.

The first class we once again ran into some technical difficulties. Second Life is being strange on our one island, it keeps throwing visitors into a perpetual teleport. This is really getting frustrating. One interesting thing we are doing this semester is to visit a number of different 3D virtual worlds so that students get a survey of a wide variety of these types of environments since more are being developed all the time.

I of course run sessions most weeks for these and usually attract three of four candidates for each, but this morning sessions were very much full with fourteen for the first and sixteen for the second, almost filling our training room.
