In 2000, I built my own LMS for a company, and was hired to create an e-learning program for customer training, as well as run a training division with ILT still in play (blended). SumTotal – Today? Owned by SumTotal – who ruined it, because by then it was GeoLearning Maestro (not that great). Blackboard. Sure folks.

Gamification as of right now, does not truly include gaming elements -0h sure some might say that to be the case, but in reality, well: If a platform says they have gamification it means that they have at least one of the following items. But SumTotal and alike do it as well. Remember those two words – gaming elements.

SumTotal by Skillsoft. According to a source, SumTotal is coming out with a new revamped version – including UI in 2016. My source tells me that this new version is in production as we speak. I have reached out to SumTotal about seeing this latest version in the next few weeks. What I heard and saw.

Course Marketplace as “System includes and or offers content” This is in relation towards learning system vendors, especially in the LMS, learning platform space and not so much LEPs (although some could do a better job at stating it in clarity). . One vendor refers to it as a learning engagement platform within their LMS.
