Although I do know of at least one training company that offers assessments and feedback after the class, I am deducing that conducting assessments is not the norm. I have read a couple of articles--and one book--saying that we will need to start proving that our training is effective by providing after-the-class assessment.

I taught a class a few years ago on upgrading to Windows Vista and Office 2007. With one day's work, I had trained hundreds of people. Nevertheless, asynchronous training has some pretty compelling advantages. And now I was being asked to justify classroom training. by Jennie Ruby. Will we ever?

In Word 2003, that function is found under Tools > Options > User Information. In Word 2007, that is found under Office Button > Word Options > Popular. Some of his reviewers were working in Word 2003. But the reviewers in question were using 2003, so there was no way anyone had used that tool.

Are there ways that the job of writing, or developing training materials, or creating videos is seen as one done by an expert who needs no help and no checklist? Do you have a checklist about writing, editing, creating training materials, or other tasks that you can share ? That is exactly a sign that a checklist might be needed!

In training documents and manuals, we often have to tell the reader what will (or would) happen if they do (or did) a certain action. I also teach the Writing Training Documents and eLearning Scripts class. by Jennie Ruby. For example, suppose you want to tell the reader the consequences of pressing cancel.
