Thus, your competition expands: Large size vendors such as Saba, Cornerstone On Demand, SumTotal, Taleo, SuccessFactors – recently acquired by SAP. Non compliant – i.e no SCORM, AICC or PENS – however, I am now seeing a few vendors offer PENS (created by AICC back in 2005, but slowly gaining traction). Every year, I identify five trends that I am seeing in the industry as a whole, and forecast on where they will be heading throughout the year. In 2011, I saw quite a few items that resonated. For fiscal year 2011 the company grew at over 50% (faster than SuccessFactors, Taleo, or Cornerstone, the three publically traded companies). portion of the funds will also be allocated towards the preparation for a potential 2012-2013 IPO.

Take a look at the companies: Saba (28) GeoLearning (17) SumTotal (22) Meridian (9) Cornerstone (19) You notice the counts are out of order (not descending). Seems so long ago. :) How about 2005 ? I've done a few posts in the past that take a look at the topics that are Hot Topics in Training. In each case, these are crude in that they look only at what terms people are using in a given content set. this would be down notable dropping topics: games, simulations, knowledge, interactive and blended Karyn Romeis commented: Hmm. have doubts about the validity of these data.

As we noted in the latest release of our industry study covering the LMS market, LMS and Learning Platforms 2009 , right now is a turbulent time for LMS providers.
