Speaking of the guru awards, I was looking at the source files for the CPR demo and was impressed to see that it only contained twenty PowerPoint slides. Looking at it, I assumed that it had more slides and a few more bells and whistles. The first slide is a Flash animation and the CPR simulation was created in Quizmaker ‘09.

Books: So, Interactivity by Design is an older book and not specifically geared toward a slide show (it is focused on designing visually appealing e-learning). The first three slides are teaser but contain valuable information and then you hit the "toll booth.") But it is well written with wonderful examples. This is for fee, $50.

It works a little different in PowerPoint 2003 than it does in 2007. So I just converted a rectangle to a freeform object and edited the points. If you want a custom shape, you can draw one using the freeform tools. Just click on the tool and then start drawing. Another option is to use the edit points.

That only works if your show’s getting downloaded tens or hundreds of thousands of times, because then you’re going … you’re casting a wide net and you’re hoping one or two percent convert. I haven’t used a PC since 2008 or 2007.

Use a Blank Slide as Your Starting Point. But the default PowerPoint templates encourage bullet point lists and boring slides. Start with a blank slide. Personally, I like to start with the title only slide. Then, I go into the master slide and move the title off screen (like you see in the image above).

does work with 64 bit and PowerPoint 2007 or below, because I have PowerPoint 2010 and a Windows 64 bit computer. Empower on the other hand does work, since it is a self-contained product and does not directly go into PowerPoint 2010 (but you can upload PowerPoint slides into it). I am unsure if Snap! So, no Snap! Lectora Snap!

The problem with that approach is you tend to get slides full of bullet points. Take a rectangle and convert it to a freeform and then edit the points to give it a curve. If you build the TV using the theme colors in PowerPoint 2007, you can quickly change the color of your television set when you apply a new color theme.
