Use Ning to build online communities and memorable learning experiences.  Ning is a free social networking platform that offers a wide array of features and capabilities. 
Adobe is offering a familiar service … for free ! Anyone who has used Adobe Connect to host live meetings on the Internet knows that it is a powerful tool for screen sharing, file sharing, marking up documents, chatting, taking notes, and interacting with audio and video. Adobe is now offering this service for free for up to three participants at a time . Simply sign up for a free account to get started.
I will be attending the free, online conference, Corporate Learning Trends and Innovations 2008 , at Ning.com next week, November 17-21, 2008.  November 17, 2008 from 8am to 8:45am – Conference site Jane Hart has conducted a yearly survey for the past several years asking learning professionals what tools they use. I didn’t get to attend the Adobe Summit or DevLearn 2008 this week in San Jose, CA, and I’m totally jealous of everyone who got a sneak peek of Adobe Captivate 4.   Thankfully, Philip Hutchison posted an excellent overview of all the new features on his pipwerks blog .  Captivate 4 will be part of the new Adobe eLearning Suite .

Janet Clarey @jclarey reminded us of her 2008 postin g where she presented some online learning myths - many of which, remarkably, are still in existence. Following on from my posting about a conversation I had at the LT 2010 Exhibtion, and after reading commentaries from other bloggers (notably Mark Berthelemy and Patrick Dunn ), I started to gather together some e-learning myths for a follow-up blog posting.  However, yesterday I found out that the subject of this week's lrnchat was online learning myths.

billion in 2008. Today's Wall Street Journal carries an article by Jeff Tachtenberg and Yukari Kane titled 'Textbook Firms Ink E-Deals for iPad'. While it is widely known that major textbook publishers are adapting their texts for the electronic format, the intoduction of iPad has given that trend a further push - or so it seems from this article. McGraw Hill, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, Pearson Education, Kaplan are all on the bandwagon

It's always interesting to look back at the past year - 2008, think about what has changed for me during the year, and think about what that means for the next year - 2009. My blog is really the hub of my thinking and activity, so by going back through posts for the 2008, it gives me a pretty good perspective on what's been happening inside my head during 2008.
