An estimated 1 million students in K-12 took at least one online course in 2007-2008 (Piccano and Seaman, 2009). Here is some data to consider (about this supposedly new learning approach). The irony of course, is that systems are heavily focused on e-mail notifications and built-in email systems for students. This trend is being seen at the higher education/academia level and it makes sense, especially when you are able to purchase courses – i.e. online courses. File Repositories. Talent Management.

Or Absorb who I first saw back in 2009. Additional features exist of course, including a nice UI/UX. Started by three people in New Zealand, and equally a system to watch, which I did all those years ago, when most people were focused on players such as SumTotal. How about eLogic?

In 2000, I beta tested an html course on a Palm PDA, who knew that in 2008 and more so in 2009 mobile learning would start to evolve. In 1998, I was one of the few who were involved at the beginning stage of e-learning and have been involved ever since. compliant.

What is true is that you can view the courses you have created on any mobile device that supports HTML5 including the iPad series. . A native app that enables you view the courses on your mobile device with online/offline synch. This can be via. Your mobile web browser. Online/Offline synch.

Another big-time player in the learning technology/system space is Vista Equity, a PE, who at one-time in the 2009-time frame owned SumTotal. In the last five years, there are a lot of firms out there trying to acquire learning system vendors, and off-the-shelf publishers of courses to a lesser degree.
