Money (US figures): Median annual earnings were $52,120 in 2009. Tech skills: "It's helpful to know e-learning and some other technology skills. Activity level: Average. Stress level: Pretty low. The best-paid 10 per cent made more than $85,860 a year, while the lowest-paid 10 per cent earned about $30,120 annually.

In 2009 I predicted : Most of the cool stuff (informal learning, social media, games and sims, mobile learning) will have to stay on the back burner, because management will simply not be interested in experimenting. In 2009 I predicted : Classroom training will be decimated. only one will matter and that is surviving the downturn.

UK survey shows e-learning's the downturn winner

Here are my selected highlights from their findings: Forty-four percent of respondents expect their annual L&D budgets to remain the same during the next 12 months, while 24% expect budgets to increase and only 17% have plans to cut budgets in 2009. Face-to-face learning will remain the number one method used by organisations.
