In July, my column on using wikis for ID process documentation was published in the eLearning Guild’s Learning Solutions magazine–my first official published article. Why a Wiki? TCC09: Podcasting with Section 508. Looking at just the numbers, my number of views didn’t increase dramatically in 2009.

In fact, my 12 eLearning Predictions for 2009 , was most popular post for 2009 (see 2009 Top Posts and Topics ) and it came up pretty high in the recent Top 125 eLearning Posts of 2009. So this post is my chance to go back to the predictions I made at the start of 2009 and see how I did. #1 As such, eLearning 2.0

In my post, 2008 2009 - written in December 2008, I looked at how well I did in those predictions, and my results were pretty good, not perfect. We will especially see a rapid growth in the use of wikis for content presentation. They also fit into a wiki page. 2009 is going to be a big year for this issue.

Questions probed the familiarity of respondents with six prominent social media (blogging, podcasting, online video, social networking, message boards and wikis). In 2009, several new tools were added including the popular microblogging service Twitter and other popular social networking sites like Linkedin, Facebook, and MySpace.

It's always interesting to look back at the past year - 2008, think about what has changed for me during the year, and think about what that means for the next year - 2009. We won't hear much this year, but in 2009, this will be something you'll hear in a big way. went mainstream and likely this will continue to grow in 2009.

References Overton, Laura & Hills, Howard (2009). Downloading course material and resources for reference and reading. Researching information from external sites.

These are not just trivial materials, but valuable performance support resources, for example: How-to materials at sites like Wiki How – “ the world’s collaborative how-to manua l&# – that provide clear steps on how to do something, e.g. How to add a movie to an iPad.
