Last week, I attended TK 2012 in Las Vegas. I’ll be honest here, this has never been one of my super favorite products, because its whole premise is built on using PowerPoint. ASTD TK12 had a lot of nuances that offered nearly something for everyone. Nice selection of vendors – in general. BrainShark. Bottom Line.

I know it’s hard to believe, but apparently there are many people who don’t like PowerPoint. Obviously there are a lot of bad presentations created with PowerPoint, but it seems to me the blame rests on the shoulders of the presenter and not the tool. Besides, PowerPoint’s a versatile tool that’s used for more than bad presentations.

A few years back, I was at a workshop where the PowerPoint team was showing some of the new features in the soon-to-be-released PowerPoint 2010. The PowerPoint developer demonstrated how to customize the ribbon toolbar in PowerPoint. Creating custom shapes is buried in PowerPoint and not easy to find.
