The Neilson report released in February 2013 provides an insight to smartphone user behaviour. 2) Flurry (the apps analytics firm) stated that smartphone and tablet owners spent 127 minutes a day on apps, (this statistic comes from December 2012). We need to take this in to account for learning too.

In 2012 browser access via a smartphone overtook the laptop/pc for the first time. This is interesting for 2 specific reasons: 1) smartphone devices provide immediate access to the internet on the move; and 2) content/information delivery on mobile browsers must be effective for the end-user otherwise they wouldn’t use it.
