It was especially fun to have lunch with Debby as she is a current online student of ours living in California. Bumped into Jason at Lunch. He is in South Carolina working for First Citizens. Mary Ann also lives close to Bloomsburg but stopped by my presentation to say Hi. She did some great stuff as a student in Second Life.

The other day I received a very nice email from a 7th grade student in a high school is California. According to one study, 55% of teachers use games in the classroom on a weekly basis (“Teachers Surveyed” 2013). I have taught in a corporate setting before becoming a professor for several years. Back in 2012, in an article titled “Gartner Reveals Top Predictions for IT Organizations and Users for 2013 and Beyond,” the Gartner Group made the following prediction about gamification: “By 2015, 40 percent of Global 1000 organizations will use gamification as the primary mechanism to transform business operations.”
