That said, just as a reminder: Here is how these new rankings will work throughout 2013: Debut this month, update in July, final top 25 in Dec. As a former training director I had enough problems with users buzzing me about whatever, but having the name of the vendor too would not be good. The best SharePoint LMS on the market. Easy to use interface – which often does not happen with SharePoint LMSs. Works with SharePoint 2007 and 2010. | SHAREPOINT AND ASSESSMENT DECEMBER 3, 2012 Will learning in SharePoint benefit from the Experience API? Although many corporations and colleges, universities and schools use SharePoint for training and education, take-off for SharePoint in learning is still patchy. SharePoint 2013 looks like it will have some education capabilities, but Microsoft are keeping very quiet about them; for some analysis of the client object model in April here or see a November blog from Mike Smith here ). But I wonder if a new e-learning standard called the Experience API might have more impact in getting SharePoint used for learning, particularly in corporate training? | | | | | | | TONY KARRER NOVEMBER 13, 2012 eLearning Conferences 2013 December 2012 November 29-December 1, 2012 International Vocational Education and Training Association (IVETA) Conference in conjunction with the Association for Career and Technical Education (ACTE) Convention , Atlanta, Georgia, USA. link] January 2013 January 2-5, 2013 The Association for Science Education Annual Conference, University of Reading, Berkshire, UK. It looks likely that the next version of SharePoint will allow you to make simple quizzes inside SharePoint, just like you can currently make surveys. It’s widely rumoured that SharePoint 15 (currently under wraps but expected out early in 2013) will have an education module – an addition to SharePoint that will allow courses, lessons, assignments and grades. | SHAREPOINT AND ASSESSMENT APRIL 22, 2012 SharePoint 15 will allow quizzes? CLO MAGAZINE | THURSDAY, JANUARY 10, 2013 What Can You Expect in 2013? Several trends will drive performance and development in 2013, and learning leaders will need to strategize for mobility. The video trend will continue in 2013 as video is embedded into Web courses, attached to learning databases and appears on self-generated YouTube sites, Skype and video-enabled webcasting. Alternatives are virtual learning labs for virtual hands-on software training, 3-D virtual worlds for distance role plays and live or online simulations to model the real world. With mobility, learning and work are not conducted in isolation. It is also popular. MORE >> -
IN THE MIDDLE OF THE CURVE | WEDNESDAY, MAY 15, 2013 #skillsoft Perspectives 2013 - Higher Ed Track Since we are in the process of re-thinking our "intranet" and portals (otherwise known as "the SharePoint implementation") - we will have to rethink how people access our content libraries. Especially for on-demand topics we no longer do instructor-led training on (such as Office and Google Apps). 'This year I decided to hang out in the higher ed track. See what other institutions using SkillPort are doing. 2 of the 3 higher ed presentations I saw used either another LMS or a portal to access and curate SkillPort content. People got too overwhelmed. It''s a free-for-all!" So true.so MORE >> -
SHAREPOINT AND ASSESSMENT | SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 2, 2012 Seven Summer SharePoint Stories Here is my take on seven stories on SharePoint published over the summer. found CIO.com’s piece Office 365 Earns High Marks in Education, Struggles in Enterprise insightful, not so much for its mention of education as to the suggestion that it will actually be Office/ SharePoint 2013 that will make organizations move to Office 365 – if you’ve got to upgrade, may as well upgrade into the Cloud. Speaking of SharePoint 2013, of course this has gone to beta over the summer. What of new education features in SharePoint 2013? for speculation. MORE >> -

CLO MAGAZINE | TUESDAY, MARCH 19, 2013 Part 1: Driving Social Learning The iPads were pre-populated with content, including an e-book that contained the company’s training materials and multimedia content, such as video clips, where appropriate. No matter how they define it, learning executives seem to agree that jumping on the social learning bandwagon just because everyone else is doing it is counterintuitive. And then, where can we use this tool? MORE >>
