I identify the Big Dogs as SumTotal by Skillsoft (yes, that is the actual name), Cornerstone OnDemand, Saba, SucessFactors and Oracle Taleo (although, I ask myself who is using this and if you still are why?). Its revenues grew to more than $700 million in 2014, and it expects to exceed $1 billion in 2016. Historically, Workday has worked with Cornerstone OnDemand and Saba to help its customers find learning solutions. Workday is investing a great deal of that revenue in research and development.

According to a source, SumTotal is coming out with a new revamped version – including UI in 2016. Meridian is coming out with a new version targeted later this year, but I sense it will be around by the end of Q2 2016. Cornerstone OnDemand. What I heard and saw. Lots to report – okay some items to report.

The book will be published in 2016. No Cornerstone OnDemand at the show – that was really surprising, especially since they push Learning Cloud; No Saba, again they are really pushing folks to Saba Cloud, and have stated their commitment to Learning. It will have checklists and templates too. Surprises (good and/or bad).

The system is going though some changes, and a new release is scheduled in the winter, which I surmise is Q4 or Q1 2016. Cornerstone OnDemand. If I was to compare the Big Dog Four – SuccessFactors, Saba, Cornerstone OnDemand and SumTotal by Skillsoft, Saba would win hands down.
