Walmart will be rolling out VR training to 30 Walmart Academies across the US, and by end of 2017, all 200 facilities will use VR for training. An expected 140,000 Walmart associates are projected to be trained via VR in 2017. (HR According to BI, 56% of developers in 2017 are building content for HTC Vive.

Docebo was one of the first vendors to offer it, and that was a while back, however, in 2017 more vendors jumped into the free content as well. It got hot in 2017, but I’m seeing a wave back towards either a partnership with a SaaS authoring tool or no authoring tool at all. It’s a video. Expect a big increase in 2018. .

I remember presenting a seminar at ATD, I think it was 2017 on immersive learning tied around AR, VR and MR. Then in 2018 the floodgates opened at ATD started to have quite a few sessions on VR. I will readily admit I drank the Kool-Aid (on a side note, the phrase was coined after Jonestown in 78, but I digress).
