Teacher-centered learning has the teacher at its centre in an active role and students in a passive, receptive role. Student-centered learning requires students to be active, responsible participants in their own learning.
With the advent of progressive education in the 19th century, and the influence of psychologists, educators have largely replaced traditional curriculum approaches with “hands-on” activities and “group work”, which Student-centered learning, that is, putting students first, is in stark contrast to existing establishment/teacher-centred lecturing and careerism.

Do not judge a person when giving feedback. - Describe, don’t prescribe - Ensure that you give descriptive examples of how/when/where you observed the good/unacceptable behaviour. If you are open about it, you will receive it frequently! - Listen actively– It is not very easy to do this especially when it is time for some constructive/ developmental/negative feedback. Ask your supervisor We cannot underestimate the value of feedback. Feedback is an important aspect of building a constructive relationship - personal and professional.

So last week I tweeted an example of immersive learning scenario built entirely in Powerpoint and published using Articulate Presenter . None of the content of this example was mine. My approach towards scenarios When designing any kind of elearning, I like to use Cathy Moore's action mapping approach to first define the scenario-based activities. Given that I saw the tweet travel a fair bit, I thought it might be a good idea to share some of the related ideas on this blog. Does Rapid eLearning mean Crapid eLearning?
