We struggle to come to terms with the volumes of information that stream past us each day. More and more, we depend on digital agents to help us navigate that ‘data stream’ and glean information from it, and then to make sense of it. We already depend and trust them for a variety of activities that once required human intervention.

An element such as user might contain data like: learner preferences, history of learning activities, learner behavior, certification data, etc. Shared data, available as streams formatted in RDF would allow individual users to create their own learning applications; eventually there will be a widget-ization of learning.

Digital memory/stream – the agent will constantly monitor all life activities and keep a record of decision, situations encountered and the environmental variables at the time. This stream of data will constantly be referenced and will serve for further decision making on part of the agent.

Same applies to bandwidth, it is now good enough to stream video, and should easily transfer data for 3D. Over time, perhaps all learning activities that require simulation and collaboration will take place in synchronous 3D environments. That day is far off yet.
