I’m always cognizant of what Ellen Wagner (formerly with Adobe) said while writing about web conferencing technologies around the time Blackboard bought Wimba and Elluminate and combined them to create Blackboard Collaborate (for edu-types, I’ll insert the ‘muwhahahaha’ just for you). billion by 2014.

I also like to make occasional visits to Google Labs and Adobe Labs to "keep up" with the tech tools they are working on and to test drive any beta versions available. When I do find interesting tools I will keep track of them using my Delicious account.

The same is true of Adobe Connect, Horizon Wimba and other 2D classroom software. In the physical world (real world), not many students hang out in my classroom when class is not in session! So why do we expect it to happen in a virtual world?
