Ryan Stewart [a platform evangelist for Adobe] has made an interesting comparison between HTML 5 and Flash in this blog post which shows that there is a lot of work required before HTML could actually reach to the level of Flash Player 10.

Adobe, recently announced moving their open-source development to Sourceforge. Looks like a desire to speed up their open-source development around the Flash platform. The new portal called Open@Adobe will hold Adobe’s open source projects in coming days. Adobe has released SWF specifications till its version 10.

Mainly, the roadmap states quite clearly that Gaming and Video are two areas Adobe will increasingly focus on. Also, given the onslaught from HTML5 in the authoring area, it makes sense for Adobe to focus on gaming and DRM video. That sounds quite strange, given that the Metro Touch version of IE will not support the Flash plugin.
