You asked and we listened. Hundreds of learning platforms use Rustici Engine as the embedded content player in their LMS, LXP, HCMS, TMS, gamification platform, HR system or custom training application to handle SCORM, AICC, xAPI and cmi5 content their customers use. But organizations use lots of different types of content when it comes to training. Videos, podcasts and documents are just a few more examples of training materials that make up the learning portfolio, which is why we added the ability to import and track MP4, MP3 and PDF file types to Engine 2019.

Another request that we’ve heard frequently is the desire to share links to articles and other web assets with learners and be able to see who is using what resource. Examples we get asked about most often are tracking things like SharePoint files, online survey tools, knowledge base posts, and intranet assets. We are happy to share that coming in the Rustici Engine 2019 release expected later this month, you will also be able to add URLs to the list of content inputs that Engine can import and track. With this new feature, Engine loads the URL into an iFrame and tracks which learners launch the html hyperlink. It’s kind of like Google Analytics for learning—but now rather than just seeing how many learners access the link—you can drill down to who is actually clicking. Pretty nifty huh? And because Engine is handling the delivery and tracking, all learner results are stored in the Engine database, providing you with a consolidated and unified source for all of your eLearning data.
