I’m sure you’ll agree with me that: SCORM cloud in e-learning is the most widely used content SaaS. Although there have been debates on which content standard type is better between xAPI and SCORM, the choice is yours to make. Your choice of content standards depends on your required learning outcomes.

In this article, I’ll be showing you the five different ways that you can use SCORM Cloud in your online training to achieve the best results.

What’s SCORM cloud In eLearning?

SCORM Cloud, developed by Rustici Software, is a software-as-a-Service SaaS training delivery platform that you can use to hosting online training content. With SCORM cloud, you can perform the following;

  • You get to deliver your content directly to your target audience via email and links.
  • You can share access to your online training courses with third-party systems.
  • You can get to test your content including videos and images, and ensure that they are way placed for learners’ use.

Four ways to use SCORM cloud to deliver effectiveness of training

Deliver your content directly to your learners

With SCORM Cloud in e-learning comes an invitation option that makes content delivery easier and convenient. There are two different types of invitations that are offered as an option when your content gets launched with the SCORM cloud.

Both invitations are based on how you want your learners to access your course content.

Public Invitations

For public invitations, you can easily connect your readers from anywhere to your online training course. You can generate links to your online training course and give your learners access to register in SCORM Cloud to take part in the training.

Private Invitations

In the case of private invitations, instructors have the power to control who gets access to the online training course. It only requires that the instructor send a private invitation via email to their learners with personalized links for each learner.

On completion of the course, you can easily track your learners’ performance and give quick feedback to help them in unclear areas of your course.

Test your eLearning courses before enabling students to access it

By using SCORM Cloud in e-learning, you can test your course content and ensure that they adhere strictly to your content standards (xAPI, SCORM, or AICC). SCORM cloud helps to evaluate how your courses adhering to your content standards can run on your LMS.

To test your e-learning course, you need to first launch your content in SCORM cloud. After launching it, you can check for issues in the debug log and troubleshoot them. Below are a few things that you can test and track using the SCORM cloud in e-learning.

Score

With the SCORM cloud, you can easily evaluate your course content and compare learners’ scores with an existing passing grade.

  • Learners attempt

You can check learners attempt with SCORM cloud to know how learners are struggling with you course content.

  • Bookmarking

Bookmarking ensures that learners get to resume courses from where they stopped.

Utilize SCORM cloud for xAPI content

With SCORM Cloud integrated with LRS, you can get started with xAPI, with ease. It is a successor of SCORM, and you can easily track almost all learning with it.

You can also use it to track learners’ performances for mobile learning. Below are a few ways of utilizing the SCORM cloud for xAPI content.

  • You can get to use SCORM Cloud with LRS to analyze data from e-learning course content compatible with xAPI

With SCORM Cloud LMS, you can convert your LMS into paths that enable the handling of the request for xAPI data.

Utilize for Flash to HTML5 eLearning conversion

It’s no more news that flash is going to be dead come 2020. So, instructors should start thinking about converting their flash-based courses to HTML5 courses. For organizations with many legacy flash-based courses, there’s a need for them to give out the conversion projects to vendors.

However, you can harness the power of the SCORM cloud to test and evaluate the courses before launching them. While the SCORM cloud in e-learning is vital, it doesn’t support all functions of LMS.

Some of these functions are; built-in content library, customized learner management, generation of certificates, forums, assignment management tools, etc. By utilizing the four ways above, you can get to deliver a better training course.
