In a lot of ways, 2019 is business as usual at Rustici Software. In other ways, it’s a brave new world.
We spend a lot of time at Rustici Software talking about what we build, what problems we solve, and why we do it. Some folks may think, “You’re the SCORM people”, others may be more specific, “You build and sell the Rustici Engine product” (following it up with all of the learning standards we support), and others still may think of us as “SCORM Cloud” and all that entails.
The truth is really something much broader. Rustici Software provides the technical foundation that connects learning platforms, content and reporting tools together. Look closely and you’ll see all of our efforts are geared towards this overarching goal of getting things to work well together.
We’re always trying to find new ways we can help people with their eLearning integration problems. What we’ve heard loud and clear from both the industry and our customers is a need to more seamlessly connect content and platforms. We’ve listened to story after story of organizations with more learning systems than they ever imagined, each learning system specializing in something unique and special, and mostly unable to easily integrate with the other tools in an organization. Moving into 2019, we’re looking at three key areas where we can help resolve this problem for our customers: Improving the way learning platforms and content libraries interact, integrated reporting capabilities, and support for expanded content types (think: PDFs and videos).
Just as we’ve always endeavored to make sure our customers don’t need to become experts in SCORM, xAPI, AICC, cmi5 and other standards, we want to expand this support to handle the growth of the eLearning ecosystem. Adding pre-built integrations with content catalogs and other application into our integrated content player solutions will enable our LMS and platform customers to direct their development teams towards the problems and features which make their platforms unique and special, rather than toiling away trying to make the player and content play nicely.
