The lovers are typically Apple fan-boys who are crazy about anything Apple, so their devotion to any bit of technology that Steve Jobs throws into the market is taken for granted. On the other hand, Apple’s business practices aren’t the ones I find inspiring. Does it support a media service other than iTunes?

The company describes NearPod as “an all-in-one solution for the synchronized use of iPads in the Classroom,” but in testing it myself and in talking to Guido about it, I actually think this definition does not do justice to all the great things NearPod enables Educators to accomplish in the classroom. Boxee just recently launched an app for iTunes that does not require you to own their set to box. will see it later this year, and it is an app, which you download through iTunes, so you can view BBC programming including Dr. Who, right on your mobile device (preferably a tablet). On top of that, one of the biggest companies in the world, Apple, used this strategy when they launched iTunes. Like I said about iTunes, Apple came out of the gate charging 99 cents per MP4, whereas the competition was multiple dollars and those who weren’t paying and going via Torrents, were staying clear.

This synchronous based experience, including the linear course approach, the groups (breakout with students going into the groups or having a group project, etc.), I have a good friend who is pro-Apple across the board.
