Yes, I am in San Francisco and yes I am at a conference where a representative from Apple is the Keynote speaker but no.it's not Macworld. I am at the Winter 2009 ICT Educator conference. Jon Burgess of Apple presenting to ICT Educators. So the keynote was by Jon Burgess of Apple who did an excellent job outlining what educators should focus on for the future.

This morning I have been reading lots of articles on the new Apple iBooks 2 app and the iBooks Author software, that enables anyone to easily create interactive eBooks. In Apple iBooks Author, you simply click the Preview button and voila, your Interactive book is sent to your iPad. Apple iBooks , Author , mLearning , eLearning , Techcomm. Too much work. I’ve previously discussed the fight between Apple and Adobe about Flash (e.g. Which Apple is blocking, for interactivity. Apple allows cross-platform media players, whether hyperdocs (c.f. Now, I understand that Apple’s rabidly focused on the customer experience ( I like the usability), and limiting development to content is a way to essentially guarantee a vibrant experience. What I care about is that, by not supporting cross-platform programs that output code for different operating systems (OS), Apple is hurting a significant portion of the market.

As much as I love new toys, I tend to hold off when it comes to installing software updates. In my experience, you never know what the software update will break; waiting a bit tends to work out when the updates prove problematic.
