About 40 years ago I read a tremendous book by Earl Forrest about a feud that took place in Navajo County, Arizona in the 1880s. In the movies, the marshal steps out from behind the big rock, draws his Colt.45 45 and enforces the law by dispatching a few outlaws as they dive for cover 20 or 30 yards away. The feud was between two families.
