Bad research

What is the issue is that in my search, I came across an article that really violated a number of principles. The title of the article (paraphrasing) was “Research validates that video is superior to text” Sure, that could be the case! Still, this article claimed to have a definitive statement about at least one study.

A bad question

Article-based learning. Similarly for articles. So, for instance, a ‘how to’ guide could be a video or an article! Likewise, interactive quizzes could include video or point to an article. What learners prefer has little to do with what outcomes you need to achieve. We should design for the learning outcomes.

Get someone to write your articles who knows what they’re talking about. Don’t let social media interns (let alone the “I’ll write articles for you” cold-mailers) write your materials.
