You can see that with just a few simple techniques and animations you could create instruction on your equipment or machines and have an instructive piece built with no knowledge of complex programming tools. Articulate can do the same job as well as others. It is a little old but still shows the power of such tools.

What this is not saying is that l&d professionals need to be able to create interactive self-study courses which completely replace their face-to-face predecessors. While some trainers will have the aptitudes and interests which will help them to excel in this area, in most cases this will remain a job for specialists.

In a recent post I made this comment about rapid elearning tools: Rapid elearning played a role in the evolution of elearning mostly because it took course creation out of the hands of a few programmers and placed it into the hands of anyone who wanted to create a course. About half way into the SDK (Software Development Kit) documentation, I realized it was a bit over my head just yet. So I turned my attention to the building my own player instead.

Usually they place more value on number of features (regardless of their real value) than on how those features are used to create the online courses. I also reflected on the relative value of 'provided' visualisations, in this case via PowerPoint, and 'self-generated' visualisations, which participants created as notes. I am assuming, of course, that the slides really were visual aids and not textual prompts for me. So, how did this session compare with the presentation.

Create a HTML Table. What you do is create the table as a HTML file; then place it on a server. So I played around with a few ideas in Articulate Engage. I’ve gotten a lot of questions about the Articulate Guru Awards. The guru awards are a great opportunity to create a portfolio project.
