If you use Articulate Presenter, hide slides 2-4 and set the branching on the player controls to go back to slide 1 and forward to slide 5 (if you had one). I used transparent PowerPoint hyperlinks and added some rollover Flash files that gave the appearance of having a rollover effect on the link. Create a Slide Rewind Button.

For example, in the LINGOs course we built , we inserted the Engage interactions as Flash files and then moved the.SWF up to hide the black title bar. If you’re publishing your course to Flash, follow the steps below. You can also record at 980×560 and insert the video using the no sidebar option in Articulate Presenter.

The challenge in all of this is that rapid elearning has to bring real value and isn’t just a bunch of PowerPoint files converted to Flash and then put online. Get rid of those things that might make noise, flash lights, or do something else to get your attention while recording. 980×560 is perfect for videos in the no sidebar view mode in Articulate Presenter. Back then, most e -learning was custom-built in Flash. However, with Articulate Presenter and PowerPoint we could build about 80% of what we needed. So our default was Articulate Presenter unless we could justify why it didn’t meet our needs. As a final option we custom built our courses in Flash.

When I managed a team of Flash developers I rarely ran into the same branding requirements that I did when using PowerPoint. The final output is Flash. And most clients don’t know much about Flash. Just let them know you’re going to deliver a Flash-based course. Why is that? They’re both blank screens. Details coming.

Articulate Presenter has that cool annotations feature. The labels can contain audio, images, and video or Flash files. Combine that with an interactive Flash file (such as the one in my demo) and you have a pretty dynamic multimedia table. You still have to remove the objects if you want to print the slides.

No one cares if what they see was built in PowerPoint or Flash. Besides, when you build something in PowerPoint and you publish it with your rapid elearning software, it becomes Flash.
