Articulate Presenter was around well before eHelp (one of the leading companies) was purchased by Macromedia that was purchased by Adobe. In fact, eHelp licensed Articulate Presenter for their own RoboPresenter product. I imagine that many of you seasoned elearning developers cut your teeth in a PowerPoint-based product.

While I didn’t enjoy working with limited resources, I will say that some of my best ideas and learning experiences came from this environment. I like to brainstorm with them some ideas and then build quick prototypes to test them out. And it’s a great way to bounce around ideas and learn to build better elearning courses.

These are great places to get ideas for color schemes and page layout. That’s where I got the ideas for these free PowerPoint templates. You can also record at 980×560 and insert the video using the no sidebar option in Articulate Presenter. Then I suggest getting inspiration from web design sites.

In Articulate Presenter, you can do this via the slide properties manager. Go through the tutorials, break down the PowerPoint file, and play around with your own ideas. Find layout and color scheme ideas from other sources. Look at best of breed web or graphic design sites to get ideas for the way you want your screen to look. Do a search for CSS templates and you’ll find all types of sites that have unique ideas. The idea’s not to steal a design. Ryan McVay. Best one yet.
