I may for quick projects, but generally, I like to keep my audio production separate from my elearning course production. Initially I found the audio still wasn’t that great but I was using an old headset with a mic. I do have a USB microphone (Audio Technica) but when I tried it, it seemed to pick up ambient noise. I use Articulate Replay to record my screencasts as it came with my SL2 licence and meant that I didn’t have to buy another program.

I’ll probably make it my default microphone because it’s much smaller, sounds great, and it gives me three audio recording modes. Here’s what I like about desktop microphones. You also have more control over recording because you can position the microphone where you want for the best sound. I really like it.

You want good quality audio and the right work flow. Record the best audio you can by using a good microphone. You can get a decent microphone for less than $100. You’ll notice that the headset microphone doesn’t sound as good. That’s why I use a desktop microphone. Plus bad audio is worse than a bad screen.
