Articulate Storyline 2. Yeah, they added new features and new capabilities, but they also took a product that even “Articulate folks” I talked with told me that Studio users using Storyline would have a learning curve. Articulate and a few of the other big dogs are holding on to desktop for dear life.

Sure, you can use the extensive list of tools on the market, but for those who want real power and complexity ala from the days of Authorware, pickings are slim. Flash course development toolkit - provides the source code, features include ability to load your movies, creates a table of contents and provides complete navigation control.

I’ve used a bunch of desktop authoring tools – Lectora, Dreamweaver, Authorware, Captivate, and Articulate to name a few. I wish it had been around when I was pulling my hair out learning Authorware. Easy to add multimedia like movies. I haven’t really used a lot of web-based authoring tools though.

If you have a DVR, it’s fascinating to see what’s going on with movies on demand and video on demand. And the first experiences as you tried to move your Authorware, IconAuthor or Toolbook course to run using their new web delivery solution? It basically adds a social element to a Captivate movie. It was terrible!

Light – only a small (less than 100k) addition to the overall Captivate movie size. • Use sparingly for effect. • @rebecka7: I keep hearing over & over again…get your course/training RIGHT ENOUGH for your deadline and then improve. • [link] Articulate showcases. Quick and easy to set up. Runs fine, but a little slow.
