In this new version of Storyline 2, not needed. Articulate and a few of the other big dogs are holding on to desktop for dear life. Love it. Never.

Or maybe you're going to use Articulate Storyline? If Articulate Storyline is your tool of choice, developers who use that tool have told me that Storyline is on a par with Captivate. Assuming you are satisfied with the original PowerPoint content, and you don't need to add additional content (beyond possibly a quiz) in the eLearning tool, the production time for converting PowerPoint to eLearning should be no more than 1 hour of production time for every minute of eLearning playtime. The answer I provide is dependent upon a couple of factors. Is it Adobe Captivate?

wasn’t thunderstruck, but what I was surprised at was the number of folks who had or were about to purchase the well known authoring tools in the market, Articulate, Captive and Lectora. Articulate. Articulate Studio. I’ve always found this product to be the top of the line for PowerPoint to Flash course builds. Articulate loves to say that Engage is used often, but from folks I have spoken with who use the product, that doesn’t seem to be the case. The Cons – Articulate Studio. They were hungry to know more information. It was awesome.

Well anyway, I chose the Presenter/Quizmaker/Engage suite of products from Articulate and so far I've had a whale of a time (although I'm still going to charge my client). So call me a rapid e-learning convert I'm in the middle of designing and developing a new blended learning course on the whole subject of embedded learning/performance support. The course will consist of some synchronous and asynchronous online activities and a two-day workshop. I've concentrated on producing really short pieces that are, as far as I can manage, lively, engaging and graphically-rich.
