Next week is Spring Break in Florida for the eLearning geek set as we descend on Orlando for the eLearning Guild's Learning Solutions Conference & Expo . I've already started packing (just to give you a sense of how excited I am). I've got a busy week. Presenting a bunch of times and looking forward to all the schmoozing (my absolute favorite thing in the world!). You can track me down in many places: Tuesday 10:45-11:45 "How e-Learning Instructional Design Differs from Classroom ID" I'm presenting this session with Ellen Wagner as part of the pre-conference

No need to create characters and articulate their joints. Good content and a drawing in the sand with a stick will also work (Plato).

It’s very casual (read: I had my Snowball mic and Bose headphones connected to Adobe Connect but then learned I would be recorded via phone! Last year, I had eight opportunities to share the joy I have in creating eLearning images and video using Second Life as a 3D application. There There was no need to use Python to create physics like in Blender 3D.

But, then there are all the others who are less technically inclined and perhaps even a little afraid of trying this "new" method of learning. I'm using Articulate to create courses for our learners. So, if you'd like to use the interaction yourself please feel free to download and use it in your own courses. Download: How to Navigate an Articulate Based Course Interaction .
...Tags: I've been working for months and months to get an LMS up and running for my organization (do a search for LMS on my blog and you'll see the overall journey) now the real fun begins.

I've been a user of Articulate Studio now for about three years. Although I have decades of experience using (and at one stage designing) more sophisticated e-learning authoring tools - you know, the highly configurable ones with their own scripting languages - I now find myself turning more and more often to the so-called rapid development tools. When I do need interactive online content, I need it in the form of short learning objects which can be deployed in versatile ways for reference, in a classroom These do the job for me because it seems that nowadays I rarely need to create the sort of lengthy, stand-alone, highly elaborate, self-study courses that were so prevalent in the 80s and 90s.

I'm just finishing up my test drive of Articulate Studio 09 and I am sold on driving my own version off the lot. As I discussed in my post " Articulate, Captivate, Both, Or....? ", I have been using Adobe Captivate but would like something that integrates with Power Point and speeds up the development process. Articulate has definitely proven that it provides what I was looking for and many other benefits that I was not aware of. Here are 5 reasons why I decided to pay the price for Articulate Studio 09. Rapid Development - Yes, it still takes time and effort to design and develop a quality eLearning experience but Articulate has definitely sped up the development process for me.

Well, I would not state it that harsh, but never the less I have the feeling that LMS does not really fit into the picture of contemporary learning. Any remarks you might have, send them, I will be happy to take them into account. Just a quick ppt: using an LMS in learner-centered courses does not fit contemporary learning View more presentations from ignatia .
...Tags: Tags: learner-centered learning So I put together a small presentation as an introduction to what I hope will be a very nice debate at Online Educa Berlin 2009 in room Potsdam 1, starting at 14.00h.

Blended learning is now inadequate - it is only mediocre. Blended learning assumes some characteristics. typical example of the delivery method of blended learning would be a combination of technology-based materials and face-to-face sessions used together to present content. The term can also be applied to the integration of e-learning with a Learning Management System using computers (WARNING - this is an unusually long post for me. And, as Mark Oehlert pointed out recently, I echo Mark Twain ’s quote, “I didn’t have time

My thoughts about this issue have led me to meander down the path of e-learning. have in the recent past been exploring various tools that let someone with minimal exposure to flash scripting and authoring SCORM files from scratch, create engaging e-learning content. One of the tools I was trying out recently was Articulate. Articulate Presenter, like Brainvisa's Rapidel Enhance builds on the user's knowledge of Microsoft Office, by integrating with MS Powerpoint as an Add-in. One of things I'd like to change in the future, would be to have more time to work on things that can lower the overall cost of training, while lending more flexibility to the way training can be delivered.

people to big LMS companies to leadership/management classroom trainers up the wazoo. From Kineo, Steve Rayson and Mark Harrison from the UK office were there, along with my new US boss, Steve Lowenthal. It’s nice to meet people for the first time and give them hugs. Especially the people you work with. At the show, we talked to a lot of people about Moodle and Articulate. Could see lots of light bulbs going off in people’s heads as they viewed our demos and heard about pricing options for Moodles. More on that later, but I do see us at a Tipping Point with the Corporate

Also, although it looks nothing like something staff here familiar with online learning would be use to, I believe the navigation is similar and this should help minimize the panic calls that will inevitably come to me. I then copy the text in the bubble into the notes area to function as a script for the tutorial. Next (I'm using Articulate ) I open up the option to record narration and I read the "script" out loud. Since I had so few people come out to my drop-in sessions about the new LMS I was completely unable to train the 2700+ staff on how to use the system. I do think
