Jane Hart's e-Learning Pick of the Day drew my attention to Articulate Online , a hosted online service offered by Articulate for users who want a low-cost (from $199/month) means to deploy and track their e-learning content. I may be wrong, but that's what it looks like.

I've been a user of Articulate Studio now for about three years. I've been beta testing the new Articulate Studio 2009, which has just been released and I reckon this does the job for anyone looking at a desktop rapid development tool.

Storyline and ZebraZapps: seriously powerful, seriously simple

First up is Storyline from Articulate. Storyline is a desktop authoring tool which Articulate would probably position alongside their current Studio suite of Presenter, QuizMaker and Engage, but for me this is definitely a replacement. You can import from PowerPoint or Articulate Studio tools if you need to.

Thanks to your helpful comments and suggestions, I did not give up and tried to make this type of questioning work with two of the most popular tools, Captivate and Articulate. Perhaps the next generation of Articulate QuizMaker will make all this extra work redundant?

Rapid e-learning - a new convert

Well anyway, I chose the Presenter/Quizmaker/Engage suite of products from Articulate and so far I've had a whale of a time (although I'm still going to charge my client). I've concentrated on producing really short pieces that are, as far as I can manage, lively, engaging and graphically-rich.
