The Development Tool Matters, in this case Articulate. I had a project come in the other day where the client requested to use Articulate. The client really liked the look and feel of previous projects designed with Articulate. Articulate does have a very nice look and feel. Hacking (eh, Crafting) Feedback in Articulate.

PowerPoint-based rapid eLearning tools, such as Articulate Presenter and Snap by Lectora, allow branched navigation, meaning you can create a non-linear navigation path still controlled through the course player’s next and back buttons. But, did you know it’s also possible to add your own custom navigation buttons onto a slide?

While on the whole Articulate is arguably a more rounded product with more functionality and customization options, Snap does have some notable advantages. Unlike Articulate, there is no simple interface for creating branching navigation.

Not only is this more visually appealing than a slide of text, but the diagram itself can come in handy as an abbreviated way to refer back to steps in the process throughout the course. While there are many ways to include a story in eLearning , a slide full of text is probably the dullest option. Image Cue: Storytelling.

Slides imported from captivate can be edited using an integrated PowerPoint editor making it easy for designers and developers that are more comfortable using PowerPoint. Captivate 6 comes with character packs making it super easy to add characters to a slide. Pasting a button on each slide is not the ideal workflow.
