E-learning modules are not the complete replacement

Should you now set about creating interactive tutorials that cover all the elements of the existing course, handouts and all? A text document, video or podcast is much better suited to this task than a tutorial and, assuming it isn't already available as a web resource, is much easier to put together. I don't think so.

If it's an e-learning tutorial that you're after, including the usual mix of multimedia and interactions, then you have to make an important choice, between tools that you install on your desktop and online tools: Desktop tools ( Flash , Authorware , Lectora , etc.) For an open source alternative, try EXE.

Now, to arrive at a manageable number of alternatives, you have to sub-divide the market into categories: Rapid tools ( Articulate , Captivate , Atlantic Link ) as opposed to whatever the others are called ( Authorware , Lectora , etc.).
