Nutrition Professionals - LMS Partner MOWAADigitec Interactive is pleased to announce its partnership with the Meals On Wheels Association of America to provide a new online portal, accessible through Digitec’s Knowledge Direct® association learning management system (LMS). It will act as a single, unified repository for self-paced and blended learning courses, including emergency preparedness training, for the network of nutrition professionals the Association serves.

“We are honored to be the eLearning partner for an organization that has such an important goal of ending senior hunger,” said Dick Hofmann, Sales VP for Digitec Interactive. “Meals On Wheels is well known for its work, and the Knowledge Direct LMS will play a critical role in delivering online training throughout the organization from leaders and program staff to volunteers. We are proud to be part of the solution to end senior hunger.”

Development of the new online portal is underway and includes many benefits to Meals On Wheels Association members looking to enhance their learning online. Members can expect an intuitive and easy-to-use experience tailored to help them meet their personal learning goals. The online portal also gives busy nutrition professionals the option of completing activities and assignments on-the-go from any mobile device or laptop, 24/7/365.

“Our member programs work extremely hard every day to supply a nutritious meal and a daily visit to homebound and hungry seniors, making it a challenge to find the time to invest in professional development,” said Ellie Hollander, President and CEO of the Meals On Wheels Association of America. “However, through our new Learning Management System, staff and volunteers will now have the flexibility to access courses whenever and from wherever it is most convenient for them.”

About Meals On Wheels Association of America

The Meals On Wheels Association of America is the oldest and largest national organization representing local, community-based Senior Nutrition Programs in all 50 States and Territories. Collectively, these programs are serving approximately one million meals daily to our nation’s seniors, either by delivering meals directly to the home of a senior whose mobility is limited – commonly referred to as Meals on Wheels – or by providing meals in a group setting, such as those served in a senior center. More than 70 percent of the members of our association provide both types of services for seniors in their communities. As a national organization and network, we are working together to end senior hunger in America.
