I have mixed feelings about templates. On one hand templates are great because they help guide the production process and maintain consistency. On the other hand, it’s easy to become too reliant on templates. Often this forces us to use templates that don’t fit the context of the course content. They have thousands.

I don’t have a large budget or a lot of time, but I’d like to use more video in my courses. Years ago producing video was expensive and labor-intensive. Today, many of us have smart phones to record and even edit video. Videos don’t need to be big productions. Click here to view interactive video demo.

Typically, with a form-based tool, you have limited customizations outside of changing the template colors and fonts. We tend to gravitate towards the templates and placeholder structure that PowerPoint provides. The first thing I recommend is to get rid of the templates and placeholders, and start with a blank slide.
