Selling Social Media for Learning: ASTD Big Question
This month's ASTD Learning Circuit's Blog Big Question is "How do I communicate the value of social media as a learning tool to my organization?" If that feeling doesn't exist, social media won't work as a productivity enhancement tool. Reposition the use of something like Twitter to be a productivity tool, not a social networking tool. Review of ASTD International Trade Expo
With great anticipation I entered the huge expo at ASTD International show earlier this week. There were some very slick products. Some angle to game based learning – either an app or actual product. If you think they used the ASTD app and wrote down some notes, I think you would be surprised. Marketing materials that showed screens of the product, had the vendor’s url, a contact section – whom to contact, etc. What stunned me was their booth and in particular the salesperson I talked to and the system i.e. what the product looked like.

Adobe Captivate, TechSmith Camtasia Studio, Articulate Storyline: Production Times
The production times mentioned above do not include the following: Writing an eLearning script. mention below that you can save production time in your eLearning tool by creating as much of the course assets as possible outside of the eLearning tool. The production clock begins ticking after you create a blank project, open a project containing previously recorded content, or import external content such as a PowerPoint presentation. Production includes, but is not limited to: Adding/editing text content such as callouts/captions. Is it Adobe Captivate? 60 minutes?

ASTD International Conference Day 1 Wrap-Up
'Welcome one and all to the wrap up of the ASTD international conference and expo. First day cool product of the show. Why hasn’t ASTD figured out how to do things right. Once again, ASTD dropped the ball. Apparently there must be a huge demand for scalping ASTD badges or hood winking ASTD for access into their show. If I could give ASTD a grade it would be a massive F. Gamelearn – Last year’s cool product of the show is back with a new game on negotiation. Leapfactor. Ideal for sales training and point of sales.
