Is PowerPoint the most widely used tool for eLearning development? It seems that everywhere I go in the eLearning world I run into PowerPoint. Most of the new authoring tools either use PPT as their backbone or offer the ability to import slides. Using these new tools meant that I had to start using PPT.

I am still surprised on how vendors who are offering assessment only tools are staying in the game. Perhaps their audience is unaware of LMSs who offer assessment tools.

Q: We use WebEx as our web conferencing tool. The problem with the web conferencing tools that currently exist (as a whole) is that none of them are 100% perfect. They also have a lot of partnerships with LMS vendors – so that adds to an additional distribution channel. . Is there anything better out there?

Brought down by the tool or tools, another retorted back. Content that once was king in the e-learning, more specifically with use in any LMS was dead. The weapons including Authorware, Macromedia Director, DazzlerMax, Toolbook were the ones that separated the knights from the common folk. The People rejoiced!
