Price Comparison I’m always surprised on how many vendors require you to sign an NDA, before they provide you, their pricing. An authoring tool – the vendor has built? Add some of those add-ons at no fee – I’d recommend the metrics one and the authoring tool. Think about that.

Cost is a key factor, and while authoring tool vendors are jumping into VR with new functionality, the truth of the whole matter is that VR headsets haven’t punched thru the L&D and/or training departments across the globe. . But for the masses out there, those amazing VR solutions haven’t been met. Low expectations.

I like Elucidat, the SaaS authoring tool, for folks new to authoring courses/content and those with limited experience. I really like that they have templates for folks who are providing customer education (many authoring tools do not). I like domiKnow the SaaS authoring tool.

Why is anyone buying a desktop authoring tool? Comparison data between that mentor and all other mentors at the company and so forth. Right now, the only platform that isn’t seeing that much crossover in comparison to an LXP, is an SEP (Sales Enablement Platform). Where are the markets heading?

Assessment tool market? Authoring Tools? I have found only a handful of systems that do that, let alone, enable the coach/mentor to record themselves and have the learner see that in comparison. Similar to the readability index, the audio angle was quite intriguing, and it also did counts in terms of ahh, uhhs, etc.

In the case of a well known LMS vendor for example, their system came up on Avant, but when I went to play a course, their course player screen failed to work effectively and the course window did not look as it should, in comparison to some of the other better known browsers. Spark is nearly identical to the EdCast system, but its focus is on SMB, so you will see a lower price (based on seats), and a couple of features are not available – for example, you cannot integrate the Domo BI tool (it is doable with EdCast itself, for an additional cost). A built-in authoring tool is listed as an inquiry with any learning system vendor, but it a vendor doesn’t have one, they are not eliminated as a result. A built-in authoring tool is basic. Plus, I always recommend going 3rd party authoring tool, even if your system comes with one.

If you want a strong built-in authoring tool, that can get close to a commercial one, then add Create LI. You can even tie in your other data streams from salesforce, BI tools, heck just about anything. Comes with a video editing tool and so much more. It’s impressive. Watershed LRS is on the back-end.

I have found some nice things via it, but also do a comparison. Their add-on course authoring tool, is fantastic – I recommend adding it. Authoring tool – parts are included – and those are strong, but an add-on called Creator+ is extra. UI/UX for Learner and Administrator is good. Weaknesses.

A nuance to it is that the authoring tool vendors won’t go there. Here is a comparison between Gear VR and Daydream. Some course providers and course creators will start developing AR and VR content.
