Me: Im an instructional designer. Im sort of distracted by the naked boy who just ran by (not mine). billbrandon had this comment on Twitter: I usually just tell em Im a writer. So what I tell people is my job is similar to that of a film director who directs a movie or an ad maker who visualizes commercial ads.

Its like the opening credits of a movie. Belatedly, Im thinking that there are relatively easy ways to enable learners to have cake or to eat it as they see fit. Im not sure I suggested writing WIIFM learning objectives, but they probably have their uses. Not sure if any company has try to innovate on this. Take the Survey!

In 1982 or thereabouts a wonderful movie debuted. It was about this funny looking ET thing that ate Reese’s Pieces and hung out with some kids that were annoying and went on to have less than stellar movie careers. Mobile is still on the rise, with more vendors (LMS, authoring tools, assessment, e-learning tools, etc.)

At least, this is what Im told. And as long as companies still pay for it we are all sittin pretty making some coin crankin out the Captivate movies sippin a cold pint. These folks are described to us by their managers as wanting to do their jobs and then go home and crack a few beers. Although that describes most of us, right?)
