Here at DevLearn 2011 in Las Vegas I've got authoring tools on my mind. You can build templates and themes and share these between projects and developers. Michael was, of course, the creator of Authorware, a highly powerful tool from the CD-ROM era, which Adobe eventually gave up on after they inherited it from Macromedia.

Templates, themes, debug tool (nice), translation tool (nice too). It comes with a “LMS” which is some analytics – similar to what is happening in the space (have to attend DevLearn to find out what that means. Custom learning paths, templates. Variables, actions, objects, free-form, templates.

Adobe shows off Captivate 4 and the Adobe eLearning Suite

These are very similar to Flash components and Authorware Knowledge Objects, in that developers are able to create pre-configured logic and visual components which accept parameters when inserted into Captivate.
