Activity streams are sort of in between Twitter and Blogs. Here are some of the tools I added to my repertoire of handy freebies in 2009. Egoboo tools help you find yourself, you narcissist. Similar Site searches for sites with similar content to yours. Rypple is a web-based app that makes it easy to gather anonymous feedback quickly.

Take blogs, for example. Blogs were geeky lists of pointers and commentary. Then the public embraced blogs. There are more than 100 million blogs. Twitter hosts more than 10 million microblogs and is growing at 1200+% a year. Things start with consumers and are later adopted by corporations.
